Suns' Mike Budenholzer relays the team's high expectations

The Phoenix Suns have started the 2024 NBA season in impressive fashion, owning an undefeated 5-0 record. On Tuesday, October 21st, head coach Mike Budenholzer spoke to the media following practice to discuss the team's early success.

Budenholzer praised his players' effort and execution, saying, "I'm really proud of the way our guys have come out and played so far. We've had a lot of different guys step up and make big plays, and that's been a key to our success."

The Suns have been led by Kevin Durant, who is averaging 27.6 points per game. Durant has been particularly impressive in the fourth quarter, where he is averaging 9.2 points per game.

Durant credits his team for his success

"I'm just trying to do my part," Durant said. "We have a lot of great players on this team, and I'm just trying to fit in and do my part. I'm not trying to do too much, just trying to make the right plays and help us win."

Grayson Allen has also been a key contributor for the Suns, averaging 16.8 points per game. Allen has been a consistent scoring threat, and he has also been effective on the defensive end.

Allen reflects on his performance

"I'm just trying to be aggressive and play my game," Allen said. "I'm not afraid to shoot the ball, and I'm just trying to make plays for my teammates. I think we have a really good team, and I'm just trying to do my part to help us win."

The Suns will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, October 22nd.
